MEET THE ARTIST
Michele Dammyer was born and raised in sunny south Florida.
She was adopted into a beautiful and loving family who always encouraged her to explore her talent in art. For as long as she can remember Michele always had a pencil and paper in hand. Drawing up her own stories by the inspiration surrounding her. Growing up in Florida Michele found most of her inspiration from being in nature. She was always outside whether it was in her own backyard or on the boat with her family.
Throughout Michele’s childhood her parents enrolled her into
different art classes in school. She even participated in some art competitions and won first or second place a few times. Michele also explored her creativity in other mediums such as creative writing and photography – winning best-in-class multiple times.
Although she excelled in her art courses Michele had the desire to connect and help children with special needs. So, she enrolled into
college specializing in Exceptional Student Education. For three years she assisted teachers and worked with children of special needs, but her artistic voice kept calling. Michele then decided to continue her artistic journey by receiving her degree in Graphic Design from Broward College.
Since 2015 Michele has been a full time Graphic Designer helping small to large companies thrive by creating visual assets to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate their consumers. She uses her creative eye and distinct attention to detail to bring the client’s visions to life.
In 2023 Michele decided to enroll in the Milan Art Institute to push her creative abilities to higher levels. Dedicating a year to refining
her art, developing her voice, and honing her own unique style.
Michele currently lives and works in her home studio located in Jacksonville, Florida. She spends most of her time continuing to develop her unique style or exploring different mediums of art such as, photography. In some of her pieces she uses her own photography as sources and inspiration.
Through her pursuit to bring more hope and belonging into this world she invites her audience into a new realm of possibilities. Her paintings can be described as abstract realism, with romantic elements portraying a hopeful atmosphere where anything is possible. Her artwork is layered with symbolism, often sparking deep emotions. Michele expresses hope, love, authenticity, and belonging through her brushstrokes. She often finds inspiration from animals, nature and the beauty around her.
