When I was a little girl, I always played outside—climbing trees, building forts, fishing in the canal, collecting flowers, and feeding the ducks. My childhood home was on a canal, so the wildlife was always roaming our backyard. I’d wake up with the sun and run out back to feed them. Every morning, the ducks would be waiting on the steps leading to the canal.

These moments are so special to me. They were such simpler times. We were living in the moment, creating little memories with such big meaning, often without even realizing it. This is why I hope this painting encourages you to pause and appreciate the little moments that aren’t so little. May it serve as a gentle reminder to find happiness in those moments again.
